Spleefing in Vetropolis

Thanks to Bonzai728 for suggesting Simple Spleef, a cool spleef game management plugin.  Now, instead of having someone count down awkwardly in chat, and having to rebuild the spleef field after a match, and having to determine neck & neck matches, and not to mention having to climb all the way back up, we have this cool plugin to deal with all that.  Check out the Wiki page for detailed instructions on how to play.

For those of you who may not know what spleefing is, in short, you’re on a field of some material (usually dirt) and you have to dig out the blocks from under your opponents, and whomever is left standing at the end wins. The plugin will actually allow you to join, costing you 5 shillings, moderate the match, teleport you back to the audience when you lose, and whoever wins, gets the pot of shillings that everyone paid in, plus a random item prize.  The prize can be anything from a piece of string to a diamond.

Spleefing in Vetropolis

Typing /spl join will teleport you to the Vetropolis Spleef Arena to join the match.

Awesome Spleefing

You don't even need a shovel. Any touch imediately destroys a block during a match.

Spleef Prize

Winner is automatically announced, and prizes are automatically paid out.

Please note that as of today, 2/2/2012, there are some issues with conflicting plugins that may cause the plugin to crash, frelling is working on it.

Thanks for the plugin Max. It seems to work great, only having some issues with conflicting plugins like Mchat but we hope to resolve soon. Only complaint has been the spleef messages spamming the chat, but that’s not a deal breaker. Maybe if one could opt out of spleef chat by typing /spl silent or something, all could be happy.

You should be able to turn off the global broadcasts by setting the relevant “announceSOMETHING” config options to false. Then only spleefers and watchers can receive the messages.
