I have been planning on doing this for a while but.. I am going to be buying/getting a recording software soon to create videos for VC. However, I'd love to have someone who can help me edit and create them. So if you actually have good experience in video making, tell me (I've heard TSWG has some experience?). Also, any suggestions on good recording software?

I'd suggest fraps personally. It allows you to adjust the file sizes and resolution easily, and it can be toggled by a key of your choice. Granted many other softwares probably do the same and fraps costs 37 bucks to get so it's not a small investment.

hahaha. Like Gunner said; get fraps and use it to record with.  it's a free download, and adjustable for recording size.

as for editing, if you want to buy programs, I'd suggest Vegas Movie Studios HD, Adobe Encore, Adobe Premier, Pinnacle Studio HD, or for simple vids, I believe windows movie maker would work.  I don't use movie maker as i have all the others.  Personal preference for ease of use is Vegas Movie Studios HD.  Allows for easy trimming and editing.

I've been over my head for last few weeks with a DVD project myself, but willing to help out when this is finished up.

I told Meat I would look into a video with him about a month ago, but I took on a job at work, which has taken all my time since.

EDIT:

-- Adobe After Effects is useful, if you know the software; to edit graphics, and make animations.  Not too sure how far into depth you want to make your videos.  But I'd be willing to animate an intro for future VC videos.

Well I'm planning on going pretty far in depth since YouTube videos can bring in a LOT of people, and even advertisements/money. Bigger servers such as FyreUK have things like timelapses and they can easily reach over 100,000 views. Anyway, I guess I'm getting fraps then, and for editing, I've heard really good things about Adobe After Effects, so I'll look into that and the Sony Vegas one.

I've actually been looking on fiverr.com for some kind of intro video TSWG. I'd MUCH rather have you do one for us- I could pay you in shillings for your help too! We're still hoping to get our logo prettified too, we're thinking maybe have the text in a metallic shield (not a MC shield, a real looking shield) kind of thing.

I'd be interested if there are any graphic designers or artists in the community that might take a stab at it, if so we might do a contest or possibly pay someone in shillings for a logo design too.

I recently got my music studio programs up and running on this computer as well, so piecing together the animation can be done 100% in house now.  Don't have to export all my projects to the music studio down the road anymore.  I think having a contest, similar to the "designing the Good Hope" would go over well with the community as well!

ugh... heres a little tiddly-bit of info for ya... im rendering a 3.6 minute video that will take 6.5 minutes to render.  its the first of  106 renders for this DVD project I'm working on. lol.  "Due on saturday?" i said. "No problem" i said... /wrists.
