I'm very curious what useful client side mods people may be using that are explicitly allowed on VeteranCraft.

Specific features that I'm interested in if any authorized mods support:

-- improved chat UI

-- chat logging

-- keyboard shortcuts (to be clear, shortcuts for messages, not to be confused with any form of AFK grinding, macros, etc)

A few mods here even use the keyboard shortcuts, so I know those are alright. For the others, I believe Frelling said in the past that chat mods would be alright, but if you see this Frelling, correct me if I'm wrong.

I have awesome shoulders.

If a mod isn't used for cheating or gives an unfair advantage over other players, it generally will not be frowned upon. That's said, we reserve the right to say no if a mods turns out others or is disruptive to game play (e.g. text mods that "paint" ASCII pictures). We wouldn't expect everyone to comes and ask "mother may I?" as they are trying out different mods, but when they settle on a couple, it would be good to ask.

We don't maintain a list per se, but off the top of my head, I can think of these mods:

  • InventoryTweaks
  • Too Many Items (not really that useful in SMP)
  • Not Enough Items (similar to TMI, but more useful because of its recipe library)
  • Rei's MiniMap

There are a few more scattering throughout the forums. I'll defer the rest to Emulated, since he seems to be more update to speed on what players (and himself) are using.

Human beings, who are almost unique in having the ability to learn from the experiences of others, are also remarkable for their disinclination to do so. - D. Adams

Outside of the ones that Frelling mentioned, again off the top of my head:

  • MCCapes
  • Optifine
  • ConvenientInventory

Cheers,

Anthony Hughes

The macro/keybind a couple of us use for binding commands:

If you use it to spam commands it can result in a kick from the server, so use it sparingly.
