I just emigrated to VeteranCraft a few days ago. It was a long journey; so long, in fact, that I was in a stasis pod for nearly two years.

Luckily for me, the atmosphere and mechanics here were not unlike those of my previous mining world. However, that's about the only things that are the same. In nearly all other aspects, I find VeteranCraft to be much more conducive to cooperative communities and peace of mind.

My first few hours (*) were spent going through the new citizen indoctrination procedures. After wandering around Vetropolis for a little while, I found myself down at the docks. The ships are glorious, with their large masted sails and wide variety of designs. Upon some not too serious reflection, I jumped on the ship sailing to the Isle of Pserimos. (Oh, that reflection, I chose it because of the purple sails.  Really!)

(*) Okay, it wasn't hours - but there ARE a lot of signs to read!

Upon disembarking, feeling the urge to dig, I headed straight for free land; crossing the wooden bridge from the isle to the area east of Pserimos. By then it was already near dusk, so I dug a quick hole and went to ground for my own personal safety.

That hole turned into a wilderness refuge; it's open to anyone in the area. Upon viewing the area on my mobile device, I observed many spots in the immediate local area that were ravaged by apparent strip mining. Over the next few days I made it my mission to lay down dirt and restore the surroundings to a more natural state. Fortuitously, I snapped an overhead image of the immediate vicinity. In that picture you'll note several shallow and deep scars. Compare that to the current imagery to see the new growth.
