Some other players and I have been discussing about The End. Even though it is not active yet, we decided to make a team for the sole purpose of killing the dragon. The reason that we are choosing to implement a team for this is because it would be more organized, slightly easier to work together, and we won't end up killing each other. In order to be admitted onto the team you must tryout (or meat/frell will just choose). The tryouts will be held at the PVP arena. All players attempting to join the Ender Team will battle to the death. However, because we want to test the "skills" of people, potions, enchantments, weapons, and armor will be permitted. There will be a team captain/leader, possibly a co-captain, explosives experts, the archers, the defenders (against endermen), and the swordsmen.

Why should "the end" be limited to a certain group ... in other words , those that dont have "skills" get screwed...
I am nether for or against the idea , but everyone should be able to go if the end is open. Just my 2 cents.

In all honesty it really isn't that intense, (somewhat unfortunately imo)
Jon soloed the dragon the first night it was activated. (before it got broken with an update)
But I think it is fun for more people to participate for sure.

Yeah, I'm thinking that we just let in everyone who wants to join. Otherwise some people who want to fight the dragon wouldn't be able to. Well, at least everyone who is trustworthy.

What if someone decides to kill the dragon before your team gets to it?
I also agree that the dragon is easy. Jon, Oka and myself killed the 2nd dragon and we were pretty much just messing around the whole time, or at least I was xD

The End is interesting, and it's fantastic that people want to kill the Ender Dragon (is that the right name), however I am not really certain organized teams are necessary.
At any rate, I think "campers" will defeat the Ender Dragon long before the entire team would all be on at once.

i think the only real isue is how often The End will be reset. if frelling(to lighten his workload) resets it once a month or so then it seems that a team would be fair. peopl try out to have a chance to get the egg. however if it is reset once a week then it would feel that a team would be less nessicary and more a rule "only on egg per person at first"

This still seems improbable as campers will camp either way.

Isn't there only one End Gate to the entire map?
-And if there's only one gate, don't you need ender pearls to find it?
--And if you find it, couldnt you destroy it, to cause any "campers" to use valued materials to make the gate work again?

It says in the Rules/Information page that The End would be reset whenever the dragon is killed. Â I don't know if there would be a minimum time, though. Â Otherwise you could potentially get like 10 resets a day, if someone was dedicated to it, and could convince frell to reset it that often.

As far as the Egg goes, wouldn't The End be like the Nether, and have open PVP? Â To me that sounds like once the dragon is dead, it's a cage match between the players to grab the egg first and get it safely back to a Res.

I wouldn't mind being a part of this, but The End has never been a big selling point for me. Â I play Minecraft for the mining and the building, however once that's been done enough, I wouldn't mind at all going for an Egg trophy.

I am not sure when the End will be back, but it will, it is on our list.
By the way, emulated, as you said it isn't as challenging as one would think, what if we were to make it a little more interesting and more challenging. Making that coveted egg even more valuable. What about we make the ender a weekly or biweekly event, rather than just setting it open and free for all. We could livecast it each week. How would we make it an event?
- 2 or even 3 teams (or we could just do free for all, but teams sound interesting)
- PVP on and encouraged
- So now instead of thinking about just killing the dragon, you're also fighting off intelligent players
Does this sound interesting to anyone? I think it would be. Like a war between the teams with the dragon being the ultimate antagonist of the situation. Who knows, even if the last team survives the other players they may not survive the dragon.
It certainly would make dragon eggs a most coveted item... The rarest item in VeteranCraft

is it that you can kill even your own team or is it somehow team attack is off? and also if your team has won and the other team is completely dead, who gets the egg? but i support the free for all as long as i wait untill spent runs out of damage 2 potions killing everyone else.
