There are so many little Easter egg things in this game.  I thought we could share tips and tricks here.

I'll start:

*  Slime are more likely to spawn the closer it is to a full moon.

*  You can use string/trip wire to invisibly hold up things.  Ex: Okamat has used them cleverly to make carpet-umbrellas for beachside tables.

* For archery practice/games, you can put a pressure plate on a block of snow.  Hitting the side of the snow, will activate the pressure plate...so you don't have to hit it directly
* Rabbits have a rare "rabbit foot" drop, used in making jump potions.

YOUR TURN!!

Some things work better easy to west or north and south.

Rails will try to line up easy to west first so if you're running lines of rail it's better to do it easy to west.

Pistons can push a max of 14 blocks which applies to blocks held together by slime blocks

Mow your lawn with water. If you want to automate the process and save effort, use water buckets and dispensers.

Want to quickly move entire stacks from a container to your inventory, or vice versa?

Grab any item in the mouse by clicking on it. Now keep shift pressed and double-click on the stack of an item you want to move. All stacks of that item-type will be moved. Awesome for after farming, or while building.

You can get unlimited money with this cheatcode: /money pay tedisvet 500000.

This is not a lie, I am the richest man on the server for a reason! Cool

OT:

Tutorial for an easy "magical" mob barrier:

1. Dig a trench with any length & width.

2. Make it atleast 3 blocks deep (I always do 4, just to be sure).

3. Place signs on the top block of the inside of the trench.

4. Place (any type of) carpet on top of those signs.

5. Result!

This will create an invisible barrier which you can walk over, but mobs cannot.

How? The AI of mobs dont see carpet as a block they can walk on, so basically all they see is a

3-4 block deep trench which they cannot pass. They will try to walk around the trench, but any decent

2 block high wall will prevent that from happening.

Note: If they get pushed or hit and happen to land on the carpet, they will NOT fall through, they can now follow you.

Note2: Spiders can bypass their AI when they preform a jumping attack. This can cause them to accidentally land on the carpet, which allows them aswell to follow you.

"Pants? You mean leg prisons."

I thought this link would be helpful for anyone wanting to design a banner without wasting materials, and looking up each step to get every layer. http://www.needcoolshoes.com/banner

Below is my result:

That looks totally awesome, while only being 3 additional steps. I love that website, too!
