Some of you may have noticed that McMMO was added to Telgar a couple of days ago. We accidentally uploaded a local test server image on which we were testing various techniques for importing and consolidating McMMO stats.

McMMO

It is official now, McMMO has been added to the Telgar and Seraphs Realm test servers. Members should have full McMMO stats as they had in Arda plus whatever they accumulated during the 1.12.2 test cycle in Seraphs Realm. Currently, both the 1.13.1 versions of Seraphs Realm and Telgar use the same McMMO database, effectively sharing stats across two servers. Thus any gains made on either server will be reflected on the other.

Mind you, this "sharing" is experimental. McMMO does not have multi-session capabilities; however, since members should technically only be able to connect to one server at a time, it should not make a difference.

Password Resets

Some members have reports problem resetting their forum passwords; they never get the confirmation email. There are some much needed updates to WordPress in the queue, which we hope to get to soon. Thereafter, password resets should once more work. More on that when we get into it.

Upcoming Tasks

  • Fix Dynmap rendering and database access -- currently, Dynmap is not rendering blocks correctly and occasionally has a hissy-fit connecting to the map database server.
  • Shoppe database refactor -- We have to refactor the database model for Shoppe to account for the manner in which items are defined in 1.13+. The good news is that it will make it simpler, but there are a lot more options for searching items that we want to consider.
  • Begin testing Arda world updates. Supposedly there are issues when upgrading older worlds to 1.13.1. We are starting to test this process to see what side effects happen and what we need to do to fix or avoid them.

General

Unfortunately, Mudwog has been away, traveling for work for the past week and will probably not be back for at least another week. Apparently, that was not good enough for Murphy. I suffered another retinal hemorrhage earlier this week. Fortunately, that is all it was. No retinal detachment this time. It was not a major surprise since it was a potential side-effect of the eye surgery I had a couple of months ago -- in short, getting old sucks. Although it rendered me useless of a day or so, it is getting better. The cloudiness in my eye is slowly dissipating, though at this time it is as if looking through a smoke-filled bar room, making computer work a bit harder.

McMMO Skill Level Fireworks Supposedly Happening Too Often

We review configurations and verified that fireworks effect only happen every 100 levels of any particular skills. However, since nothing is guaranteed with third-party plugins, we ran several tests and dug up a lot of sand on our test servers to verify that McMMO behaved as expected. It does. Chances are that whoever mentioned this was most likely confusing Flux Mining fireworks with level up fireworks.

We will always investigate reported problems; however, we ask that members be exact and sure of what they report as a bug or problem, lest we spend time chasing ghosts.

McMMO Fireworks Causing Server Lag

During our skill level testing, we did notice that McMMO fireworks did cause graphics to stutter a bit. This is purely a client-side issue and did not cause server lag. We installed a Minecraft client on a high-powered CAD stations (2 x GTX 1070 Ti, 12-core/24-thread Xeon E5, 128 GB memory) and fireworks effects ran smooth as silk.

Hence, all members will be receiving a complete CAD workstation system in the mail; yeah sure! Instead, we configured McMMO to use regular fireworks effects, rather than large fireworks effects. Graphical stutter was abrely noticeable, if at all. Mileage will vary depending on member's systems. If it continues to be a problem, we will disable fireworks effects all together.

Flux Mining Was Enabled

For some reason flux mining was re-enabled. It has once more been disabled.
