The one thing that Meatbawllz and I have always been slightly embarrassed about was the manual processing of sponsorships. Meatbawllz, Emulated, and I did as best as we could but it wasn't perfect. We appreciated the patience that our sponsors have shown as we sometime played catch up with PayPal and our server. We hope we made up for some of that by also being fairly relaxed about yanking perks when the clock runs out, erring on the side of a gentle nudge instead of the axe
The good news is that with the migration to new servers, we have the ability to automate sponsorships and other services without having to rely on third-party products and/or services that seem to break every so often and royally make a mess. However, having said that, it also means that these tasks will no longer be performed by our kind-hearted, understanding, and caring human beings, but instead by cold, callous, and unemotional computing machinery.
The benefit will be that sponsorships and services are deployed in near real-time to satiate instant gratifications. The downside is that at midnight of every day, it will also uncaringly void and kill perks if needed. This should be of particular concern to members that regularly upgrade each month and then immediately cancel their subscription. If you miss renewing by a day, you risk having your sponsorship perks reset. I can certainly understand that new members might be wary about keeping a sponsorship subscription active with an unfamiliar Minecraft server - I did the same things many, many moons ago. But once you are comfortable, realizing our longevity and stability, it would be better to keep subscriptions current.
As part of the fiscal streamlining, I am performing a full audit of sponsorship and other service payments going back to Oct 2013. I've come to realize that there are a few members whose sponsorships have lapsed but yet continue to benefit from them. I'm not going to hound anyone for "back pay" but ask that you bring your sponsorship current or let me know that you do not wish to receive them anymore.
Likewise, for our members with active PayPal subscriptions, I would appreciate it if you could verify that it is with VeteranCraft LLC and not Strike Media. If it is with the latter, please send me a PM. In the past, it didn't matter much, but with the upcoming automation you need to be sure that your subscription is with VeteranCraft LLC.
Best regards,
Frelling
