As a friendly reminder, I bring to your attention that we are drawing close to the end of our 50% refund period for Residence (8/22/14). After that date, all non-server specific residence zones will be deleted. If you intend to convert your Residences into GP Claims, do it now, before find your precious works without protection. I repeat: non-server residence zones will be deleted without warning on or after close of the refund period.

Ok, I'm a little confused from reading the Arda FAQ: (section 4.1) "Active Players and Current Donors with Residences will be allowed to keep them, but they will become locked. They will not be able to be added, expanded, moved, altered, or removed, as players will not have access to any /res commands."

This left me with the impression that if we didn't put in for a residence refund, our residences would simply become locked - we'd no longer be able to alter the flags or anything, but they would remain protected in the state they're currently in... but this is sounding more like residence is being removed completely then? Or am I misreading something somewhere?

I can see the confusion. It appears that an intent was translated in the wrong context. For now, I have no problem amending the above mentioned process by excluding existing sponsor residences from removal; though keep in mind that they will still be locked, meaning that no one will be able to modify anything within those residences. This includes inventories. Anyone that wishes to continue using their old residences should seek to replace them with GP claims, ASAP.

I guess I'd better put in a residence removal request asap then. To be honest, it's kind of a letdown that i'm only gonna get a 50% refund at this point from being so late to do it (had i known the particulars better, i would've just put in a request when first offered)... though 50% is absolutely better than nothing, so i'll take it, lol. Kiss

Thanks for the heads-up, frelling!
