With certainty I can say that many of you are anxious to get new 1.8.x items into your shops. Likewise, we are anxious to get the plugin updated. Unfortunately, with the additional of many, many new items and variants of older ones (e.g. fences, doors, etc.) the resulting name conflicts would have required the use of some lengthy and/or esoteric names.

Instead, we are pulling code from our JCShoppe 2.0 version to provide a more robust and easier means of specifying items. For example, take Stone Brick Stairs; or in the case of JCShops Stairs, Stone Brick, which could have been shorten to sta sto bri. If the order of terms is wrong say bri sto sta, JCShops barks that it could not find an item. That is no longer the case. JCShops will take item terms in any order and find items that are best described by such. If more than one item is found, it will state that it needs more information is needed. For example, entering gra, which in the past was sufficient for Gravel, will  report that it matches 2 items where are Gravel and Granite and that more information is required. Entering grav will get Gravel and gran will get Granite. Initially, it will just state that there are 2 or more matches rather than displaying said matches. The chat real estate is too small for any extensive lists. V2.0 will try to use the scoreboard for more detailed information.

Anyways, that is what we have been trying to implement for the past week. Initially, we were going to release V2.0, but realized that it was not yet ready for prime time; thus, we're back-porting some of its newer features to V1.0.

Human beings, who are almost unique in having the ability to learn from the experiences of others, are also remarkable for their disinclination to do so. - D. Adams
