Mojang has announced that Minecraft 1.5 (a.k.a. Redstone Update) will be released on Wednesday, March 13 - just 6 days from now. Because this is a major release, there is a good chance that you will not be able to connect to VeteranCraft if you update. If you just absolutely, positively, gotta have it now, and want to explore new 1.5 features, PLEASE make sure that you have a backup of your 1.4.7 client. You might want to consider using a launcher tool such as MagicLauncher or MultiMC to have the best of both worlds.

As with previous upgrades, we have to wait for CraftBukkit to put out a Beta Build - or at least a reasonable stable Development Build - before we can consider updating VeteranCraft. Furthermore, we are also at the mercy of plugin developers. This release contains many new items and will most likely require more work than usual on behalf of developers. On average, the process takes about a week, but can be as long as several weeks or as short as a couple of days.

We are all geared to test our configurations and plugins as soon as a CraftBukkit development release is available. Many of us have cleared our personal schedule to give this as much time as needed, but as I mentioned earlier, it all hinges on CraftBukkit and plugin developers. Obviously, our own plugins will work like a charm Kiss, but hey, you never know, we might have make some updates too.

Human beings, who are almost unique in having the ability to learn from the experiences of others, are also remarkable for their disinclination to do so. - D. Adams
