Good news everyone!! Bukkit has switched development to 1.4.5 and its latest Development Builds seem to be fairly stable. We're in the process of finishing updates/patches on our plugins for the test phase. If everything goes according to plan, we should be running version 1.4.5 by tomorrow evening. It could happen sooner. However, we're also transitioning our Update Process to the dedicate server to make these transitions smoother and faster - best to spend some time now and save lots more in the future.

There is no need to rush out and download the 1.4.5 pre-release version. Its primarily a fix for some plaguing problems in the client's LAN server feature. You can use a 1.4.4 client to connect to a 1.4.5 server.

Exciting! I'm loving the new features being added. I'm sort of surprised Bukkit is updating that quickly- back in the day it took them and the plugins a long time to catch up to even the official patches.

Keep in mind that we're talking about using a Development Build. It takes much longer for a Beta or Recommended Build release. DBs are released "as is" with no guarantees. We're moving forward only because other server owners and myself have found preliminary tests to be promising. I'm certain we'll discover a few more bugs, but hopefully nothing that would cause too much grief on our part.

Just a quick update on the upgrade. Things are still moving forward, although we've had to do some tweaking and hunt down a few bugs. Nothing critical, but things have slipped by a few hours. Not sure of an ETA. If you need something to chew one, a wild guess would be around midnight EST.

The upgrade is not going to happen tonight. Been chasing some nasty bugs in mcMMO for the past two hours. I've been at this all day and I'm getting tired of looking at my monitor Frown Going to get some rest and start with a fresh pot of coffee in the morning for a bit and then hopefully get things rolling out tomorrow evening.

I must have had a premonition sometime last night, but just didn't know it. While I slept, Bukkit released a 1.4.5 Beta Build Laugh.
