Hello everybody, first time posting, and regrettably it's a technical issue.

Up until today I've been content using the default texturepack ever since the last update was released, and I decided to update the one I use most frequently, however when I jumped into the game, the bricks had fire/nether animations in the corners. I'm no stranger to this, and I immediately realized I hadn't patched the game with MCpatcher. I quit the game and tried to patch it, and it told me the .jar is old, or I have mods installed. (I did have one or two installed) I did a force-update, and even deleted the minecraft.jar and minecraft-1.2.5.jar files before the update. Then I realized MCpatcher was outdated, so I got the latest version of that and then patched my game. When I logged in, the bug was still there. I have no idea what else to do. I deleted the entire .bin folder, restarted my computer, and everything else I could think of. I'm completely dead in the water.

Last time this happend to me it was because i had the wrong version of the texture pack thats the only thing i can think of as you have done everything else i would suggest just double check that its on the current build.

It's the latest version that I'm aware of. It doesn't get any more recent than version 1.2.5

You have the right tool - MC Patcher. You've already verified that you have the latest version of MC Patcher and your texture pack. Chances are is that your minecraft.jar got hosed or that there is a bug with MC Patcher. Here are two things I would try.

Using you current MC Patcher version, remove its mods f(e.g. HD Texture, Better Grass, etc.) from your jar file. Download the previous version of MC Patcher and reinstall whatever mods you had previously.

If that doesn't work, make a backup copy of your .minecraft folder. Afterwards, delete the 'bin' directory therein. Start up MC and let it update. Apply patches with MC Patcher.

I actually did delete the entire .bin earlier today. I'll try your first recommendation tomorrow. Thank you very much for your help ^_^
