2015-01-11_00.04.32.pngImage EnlargerIt is my assumption that players are permitted to mine the Mesa in SR until nothing is left but what has been claimed. I am curious about those places where people have built on the very top of the mesa, specifically by building on the top do they then own all the blocks below without claiming it and if not can players mine within 10 blocks?

I have attached a screenshot of an area i climbed up to so as to mine downward. I perhaps foolishly assumed mining where i did was acceptable because the structure was not attached to the ground where i was mining. It did not occur to me until a few minutes ago the reason for this may be because someone had come before me and made it that way.

I'll look into it.  I believe that's an old Res, not a Claim, and if the player who made it is inactive I'll remove it.  If not, I'll get in touch with them.  Thanks.

The build belongs to sts512, who is still active.  If you see him, ask him about it.  The Res over the build was sold to the server, so if he wants it removed he'll need to request it, and then he can take it down himself or forfeit it...or claim it and connect it to the ground.

So i need to ask sts512 for permission to mine the mesa which exists below the build?

By building at the top of the mesa biome like that does sts512 now own everything below it?

Technically, no, he doesn't own the Residence and he doesn't have official rights to it anymore, having sold the said Res to the server.  However we allow players who have sold their Res's the opportunity to reclaim them with GP, hence why there's still a server-owned Res protecting it.  It would be polite to ask sts512 (either find him in game, or PM him here) whether you can mine out below his build, but I suppose if you're that desperate for clay....there's no ownership currently preventing you from doing so.

Thank you for the clarification I will send sts a pm sometime. I was more interested in what the rules stated in this type of case.
