Is Arda to be 'refreshed' after Mojang update?

Seems I joined soon after Arda was implemented - now, I am wondering whether I will lose all my stuff (Claims, items ...etc) when the server is upgraded?

Vetronia (The main world prior to Arda) was around for 2 years or so. I would imagine that Arda's lifespan will be similar. The worlds that get reset on a more regular basis are the secondary worlds. This allows for builds in the main world to have longevity, but also allows for the server to have access to new materials provided in updates.

Vetronia was over 2.5 years I think, and Arda is much larger. Furthermore there's the anti-flattening rule now to make sure the place stays nice, so I'd give it far more time.

It's important to note that Vetronia is still open. It hasn't gone anywhere. Those who built there may still do so if they wish.

So - Good News - upgrades come and go but the world remains as-is - Thanks.

Do experienced 'Vets' do anything to prepare for a major upgrade (which this sounds like it will be)??

The only really important thing is that if you have anything in Seraph's Realm....get it out and into Vetronia or Arda before it closes.

Hey Doug,

It is often prudent to look over recipe changes/updates and collect/craft materials/items that will be more expensive after the update. For example, just before the 1.6 update I made a few stacks of golden apples because that update made them cost 9x more gold. Before the 1.8 update you may want to collect/buy slimeballs so that you can quickly make the slime block. Just remember to look over the 1.8 page on the minecraft wiki (http://minecraft.gamepedia.com/1.8) and prepare for the changes about which you care most.

The short answer is "no." There is no immediate risk of loosing your efforts on an update. We haven't yet completed updates to all our wiki pages to reflect Arda changes, but we did get around to update its Main Page, which will provide more information on how Veterancraft manages worlds.
