i was fussing with settings, because i didn't like my brightness levels and such.

I looked at the debug graph..and then it wouldn't turn off.

So, I went into Video settings...then other...and there was an option to restore default video settings.

And this is what I got.

I am actually in a mine, around level 30.

 

And I can't change it back.

Ok.  I actually managed to fix it...but I am going to leave this here as reference:

 

It is an Optifine bug that happens if you tell it to reset.

Go into user/appdata/roaming, etc  and look for "options" an "optionsof" and delete them.

Fixed.
