It seems that since the 1.6 update (at least, this is when I noticed the issue), I am no longer able to use my enchantment tables for level 30 enchants. I have two tables, each with 15 bookshelves around them. Neither will do higher level enchants. However, I tried using another enchantment table, and that one seems to be doing low, medium, and high enchants. Any ideas on how to fix this? I'd rather not travel every time I want to enchant something. Below are pictures of my enchantment table as well as the working enchantment table.

Actually, the first picture is exactly how i have my own enchant table set up and i've never had problems doing lvl 30 enchants on it, even with shelves in the corners obscured by other shelves, the othe shelves weren't considered as being in the way - unless the mechanics were changed in the 1.6 update? To be honest, I haven't enchanted anything since the last update, but I can check when I get home from work tonight to confirm...
...what has me wondering, really, is the blue blocks between the bookshelves and the table. If that's blue wool sitting underneath making up the floor, it's fine and won't be in the way... but if it's carpetting (which it kind of looks like from looking at the picture), that may be your problem...
