Hello, everybody!
Let me start by saying that I have loved the past couple months on VC, as it is definitely the most developed server I've experienced, with by far the best people. Everything that the mods, techs, and overall staff do is amazing!
I have been having issues over the past few days with item destruction/disappearance. Many times, I have used ./home or ./res tp and I get sent to "the Void" or get "suffocated" for no apparent reason, and the items are just gone, lost in cyberspace. Also, I have logged on 2 times in the past few days (the second time being a couple of minutes ago, inciting this post) with my inventory empty, and the items in none of my chests, and neither are the items from which they were crafted. Also, sometimes placed blocks will be gone, and not be in the chests.
I understand that it isn't anything that staff/players are doing, but I just feel a little stuck because I am losing lots of things, some of which I paid for economically. I was just wondering if I am the only person to whom these issues are happening, and also if there is anything that can be done to stop it or fix it.
Thank you for reading!

I am having problems sort of like that, like a couple days ago I was making paper so I put the sugar canes in my inventory and then went and crafted them all into paper then /home'd to an NPC village I found, when I went into my inventory all of the paper I "made" was all sugar canes again. This happened a couple of times. Also when I was making emerald blocks I took the emeralds out of the chest made them into blocks and when I walked away all of the emeralds where back in the chest as if I never touched them. I assumed it was just the lag from the pre-generation of Seraphs Realm and thought nothing of it.

There are several issues with chunks not being saved properly. The primary culprit was DynMap, which I disabled early this morning. However Bukkit also has its issues that have not yet been addressed.
The missing inventory is due to "micro-rollbacks" after chunks are not saved when unloaded. For the most part, this should have stopped happening after DynMap was disabled this morning. Some of the suffocation issues happen for the same reason. Someone excavated a tunnel, teleports home and returns to find themselves standing in the middle of the blocks they previously remove. However, there are other similar issues with players being teleported into the middle of blocks that Bukkit still needs to address.
I have tested the DynMap update and it still seems to be interfering with chunk saves, albeit not as noticeable. For now, we're keeping DynMap shutdown until we can that it is working 100% - well, 99% because you never know what else lies under the hood.
There are other issues such as XP gained in one world "disappearing" when teleporting to another world only to return at a later point. The same goes for player inventory. I have noticed that logging off and back on, resolves the problem in most cases.
However, being teleported to the end after using /home or /res tp is news to me.
Bukkit has not yet begun work on a 1.3.2 server version. So any server fixes in this 1.3.2 release are not available to us.

Today I was in the SR and when I came back through the portal I was somewhere in the outer reaches...? Would that just be a multiworld glitch?

The telportation to unexpected places was probably due to the nether portal blocks placed inside the OR and SR main portals, confusing the server. I have removed them in hopes that this will take care of the problem.
Okay......so I'm a little frustrated at the moment because I just had stacks upon stacks of items for my new store, and when I used /res tp (/res tp Vetropolis.S23) to get there, it killed me.
And destroyed all of my items.
I can't have this keep happening to me...the donor perks are actually killing me and doing damage :\
Sibbit helped me with the teleporting issue. I now can set the place of teleportation for a res. However, the death of all my stuff is still an issue.. Not only all of the glass, sand, and sandstones are gone, but also the tools I keep losing. I've gone through probably 20-25 diamonds just making these tools over and over, then there's armor, and levels wasted on enchanting. It's just..upsetting. I don't know what to ask, but I guess I'm just sort of venting and seeing if anything can/would be done.
Edit: Just want to be clear, now that the frustration has subsided some, that I wasn't posting looking for reparation, because I know the server is 100% legit, and that it is nobody's fault. I just want people to be aware that they need to be safe when using /res tp or any tp for that matter. Use my experience as an example: always set the /res tp before you use it!
Thanks for putting up with my dumbness this hour. This thread can be deleted by a mod if they see it as no longer necessary since it has been resolved
Double Edit: Just after I posted that edit, it happened to me again. >.< Oh well.

In regard to /res tp. This has been a long-time problem of Residence that never seems to get fixed. 99% of the time it works well enough, but then there is that other 1%. While its been a while since I look at Residence code, it used to simply make the assumption that the teleportation spot was free and clear. Even so, it has the problem of occasionally planted you in the middle of blocks causing suffocation damage. This is particularly true for confined spaces.
Make sure that you have at least a 3x3x3 air space volume around your teleportation spot and you will most likely not run into the problem. However, on the occasion that it still decided to make you part of your structure instead of placing you safely within it, not all is lost.
Keep /spawn at the ready if you find yourself suffocating after a /res tp. Also, should you die, your items are save. The only reason you don't see them is because they are dropped at the same block level at which you suffocated. Digging down or into the structure you were teleported will allow you to retrieve your items.
The best solution is to use /sethome for critical teleportation spots, should /res tp continue to plague you. If you don't have any home slots available, you can pretty much ensure that /res won't kill you by doing the following. Set you teleportation spot in an open area and then dig out a 2-block deep 3x3 area underneath it. This should almost certainly prevent /res tp from attempt to make you a more permanent fixture of your structure.

Oh dear. I've also had the misfortune of being teleported into blocks using /res tp. I understand quickly teleporting elsewhere isn't an option due to the teleport cooldown, so my suggestion (something I use avidly) would be to log right out. The game will not log you in inside of a block, it will place you at the closest free block above you.
This is, strangely enough, the same glitch people use to escape prison servers. Please pass along this suggestion to anyone else you find suffering from this issue.

/res tp does not share the same teleport cooldown with the usual essentials commands - e.g. /home, /spawn, etc. - so there shouldn't be a conflict unless you happened to use one of them just moments before using /res tp. There is always the option of logging out and waiting sufficiently for the cooldown to expire.
