Ever since I've joined the server, I've been playing flawlessly. Not a single issue.

Today, I was on - seemingly out of nowhere I get kicked. The error says "Connection lost. Timed out."

Naturally, I try to log on again. I get spawned sometimes in a set home area, other times at random places (sometimes stuck in the ground). I can type in chat, others can see what I'm typing, I can't see what they are writing in return. Then bam, Connection lost. Timed out. Again. Over and over.

I wasn't sure if this was just me. So I waited it out like a half hour or so. Tried again, same as described above. I kept trying and eventually was able to stay connected. I was even able to chat with the other users logged on. That lasted no more than 10 minutes. Bam. Again. Connection lost. Timed out.

That is currently where I am at. The situation has not improved and I received the same message each time.

Throughout this process, I've tried several things to resolve this. Rebooted my modem/router. Rebooted my PC. My firewall was already disabled, though I turned it on and off again for good measure. Downloaded a new copy of the game directly from MC.net.

Any other suggestions or ideas before I rage quit on Comcast would be much appreciated.Embarassed

UPDATE 1:

FWIW:

UPDATE 2:

In addition to using a new minecraft.exe, I also deleted  the .minecraft folder, then used the new minecraft.exe to "rebuild" all of that. Still not luck.

We just saw you log in 2-3 seconds ago.  We can still see your chat messages when you manage to get one in before getting disconnected.

I don't have many thoughts that would be useful, but.....

1) Make sure your Java is up to date.

2) Check to see if anyone else is using your bandwidth.  Other people in the house watching Netflix or something could hurt your connection.

3) Likewise, make sure you're not doing anything on your computer that could be sucking the bandwidth.

Yeah. This seems to be the norm. For whatever reason, you all can see if I type quickly, but I can't see your messages in response.

Ultimately, I get disconnected with the same error. Connection lost. Timed out.

Everything checks out with Java. It is up to date. I have one roommate, he's likely playing WoW, but even if he is, I post my speed and ping test's above. I have plenty enough to handle the MC connection.

UPDATE 3:

I am able to successfully connect to the Veterancraft Vanilla 1.8 server with no connectivity troubles or ANY troubles that I have outlined previously. These are the only two servers I've attempted to connect to, and so far it has only been the VC 1.7.9 server that I am having difficulty with.

Ok, my new guess is that there is something going on in your chunks that is causing ridiculous local lag.

When you get on again, do /spawn.  Once you're there, relog and see if the issue persists.

What client version are you using to connect to the VC 1.7.9 server?  If you're connecting with a 1.7.9 client version, try the 1.7.10 version and see if it makes any difference.

Are you perhaps running any mods on your end?

you mentioned being able to connect to others servers without any issue so i am inclined to wonder if your able to watch youtube videos for example or if the only internet related issue you are having is with our particular minecraft server.

Sorry for the late follow up. The only "mod" I had installed was Optifine to help with my FPS. This seemingly started out of nowhere.

I ended up uninstalling the preview version of windows 10 I was using and going back to Windows 8.1 - whatever it was definitely got fixed during the transition.

All is well and right with the world.
