Hello all, i've recently began terraforming the base for a build i am doing and have run into a snag.  The base of the building will extend about 8 blocks over a waterway, (as it will be built on top of a hill i didnt really want to fill it in)  will an arch/pillar support system be acceptable? i have attatched screenshots of the problem area.2013-06-28_10.09.07.pngImage Enlarger

We've removed less violating structures. :)

If you're just not filling it in because it'd be a pain, then I'm sorry, but that's not acceptable.  The base not only needs to be solid, but it needs to look like a natural extension of the land.  Not just a dirt slab.  Beyond what you need for your base, give it contour to make it look natural.

The best way to think about extending land into water is that if staff can tell that something is artificial, it is probably illegal.  If it looks natural, then for all purposes it IS natural.

Sorry for the extra work, but I hope that helps clear it up.

Actually I didn't want to fill it in because i like the idea of the "cove" underneath i, but if it needs to be filled then thats what i'll do.

My idea was to sheath the base in stone brick and make a parabolic arch between the two points of land preserving the waterway.  But i will do whatever you guys require.

Please don't think i'm trying to take the lazy way out, this structures base is about 109x71 and i'm just trying to minimize the impact on aesthetic qualities of the waterways and surrounding geography.

Well, we're certainly not restrictive.  If you use the area underneath, then it's a different story.  Go right ahead.  What we want to avoid is an ugly dead space caused by laziness.

Preserving the waterway is certainly appreciated. :)
