Hey everyone!

It just came across my mind today after a recent discussion in the server about youtube. I believe that we should start making youtube videos to give a server a shoutout. Everyone in the server should just click the video once and give it a like to give it somewhat of popularity. Share it with friends and our server will get out there! also we should start a dedicated schedule for livestreaming on twicth.tv Many of minecraft fans go online everyday to watch livestreamers. Once again it is for entertainment and advertisment purposes. We can have 1 account and then we can gather a couple of dedicated players who can livestream.

This is just a suggestion, please tell me if it sounds good or no.

I know for a fact this works well and it isnt hard to start and get rolling because with my tf2 server it brought alot of attention. So please consider this or just a bit. I really want to help with server and thinking of new ways to get it out there to the minecraft community :d

Anyways later!

"one more note, we should update the news on our site more frequently just saying :D"

This is a good idea for a couple more avenues of generating interest for sure, it just comes down to time. I know meat has created a couple of tutorials, and veterancraft has its own youtube account, but streaming has not been touched upon at all to my knowledge.
As for the news, I think there is a bounty for quality written news articles that is paid for someone who submits a story, so if you are interested there might be some shillings to be made there.

Thanks for the suggestion about the video stuff patrick. We've actually been planning this for a long time and just in the last week or 2 I've started officially writing a 'marketing plan' of sorts, which I'm hoping to get participation from everyone like this.

As far as community members making their own videos on their own channels, and tagging or linking back or telling people of VeteranCraft, that's perfectly allowed, and encouraged.

As far as loading content onto the VeteranCraft youtube channel, I've been wanting to get that going for a while but I don't have good screen capture software myself, and my soundcard doesn't work right now, but I'm getting that fixed, and hoping others might do some of the screen capture stuff.

I'm talking with Phunn about getting a more 'commercial' like video produced that has epic video trailer music, with fades and fly overs of some of the structures in VeteranCraft, but also get some less 'epic', more frequent videos up. Some might be simply game play, some might be tutorials on a plugin or how to build something, some might be showcasing our cities and structures, spleef competitions, or whatever. Basically to get more content on youtube pointing to our server.

I'm not sure what livestreams is or does, maybe you guys can explain it to me. Sounds intriguing.

More to come on all of this in the next week or 2.

Livestreaming is exactly like it sounds you stream what your doing on your desktop via twitch for example and people can come in and view what your up to.

Easiest way to explain is to show you so http://www.twitch.tv/ have a look around its pretty straight forward.

@bonai728 yeah i actually use to blog alog, i love writting newspaper articles kind of things maybe you can give me more info on that i would love to update the site with regular popular news that comes through the community every now and then. That would be great. I have the time to do all that to so if you can msg me some more details that would be appreciated

@meatbawllz so yeah Rikkido pretty much explained what streaming was. If i get my new computer soon i can start doing regular live streams and post youtube content. I would be more than happy too! But even better if we can find a couple of our players who have the availability to do a livestream once in awhile

Meat you can host a official spleefing contest and record it and talk about what is going on while spleefing and post the content on the VeteranCraft youtube channel hopefully the spleefing contest will spread to other places and people will see we do fun stuff on the server like the contest.

Honestly, spleefing is a bit too widespread to showcase like that, in my opinion. For an official video, I think a huge PvP sort of thing would do the trick. That's just my thought though. 😛

I have awesome shoulders.

We all have really good ideas for video content 😀 I think to summarize our server we should do a montage video of all the things we have and sorts. We should leaving spleefing and pvp for a livestream event where that can be showcased as a contest or some sort

The problem with livestreaming is that no one has really good experience with commentating. The reason why normal footage is good for spleefing or PvP is because you can edit in your voice later and record the video
