So I've been currently given a login for our main wiki page.  I'm trying and go through everything on my own but if there's anything you'd like updated/added, just let me know here or in game.

Just glancing at the page, we may want to mention the Newbie Spawn.

The article for The End also seems to be buried, with the only link I see at the bottom of the Secondary Worlds article.

And lastly, right now, it might be helpful for there to be a "Starter Page," that would use pics and dynmap links to help new players get established.  The Newbie spawn does a lot, but it might be nice to have a page like that to toss a link to them when they ask "How do I get out of here and start playing?" That might be better for the Lore Wiki, though, I'm not sure.

Yes, newbie spawn is a must!  Thanks for mentioning that.

On your second point, a lot of pages are actually buried and don't seem to have any direct links to them besides just searching for them.  I'm thinking about putting some kind of site map that way all links are listed in ABC order and easy to find.

Your last point makes sense.  Might have to make a bit more effort on that page to make it as intuitive as possible to newcomers, but it'll definitely be worth.  I do believe that belongs more in the main wiki than the lore wiki and can be integrated into the lore wiki database if it needs to be referenced.

Over the holiday weekend, I'm going to start compiling all the pages and rewriting some tidbits to be up to date.

Maybe you should rename Live Map to Dead Map, since it doesn't update anymore. :P

Smiley faces or not, no matter how funny you thought you were being at the time, its a tactless post. This thread was created under the best intentions to update information on our Wiki. I'll write this off as a harmless misunderstanding for now, unless more comments follow. A far as maps, there are more relevant posts, albeit somewhat buried (search), that explain why they have been unavailable.

I would like to see a more complete list of commands. I hate bugging people in the game to find out how to do something and much rather prefer to just have a list and look it up myself. I can find little tidbits here and there but nothing that is in one place.

Maybe this already exists and I cant find it?

You can find the player commands under Vet Guide and hold on Player Commands and you can see the ones you can click there.

To add to what Zenzar said above, if you notice anything missing or incorrect from the Player Commands section of the website - please don't hesitate to contact a member of staff and request it be changed. Command lists, especially for our often updated core plugins, are really just a snapshot of the capabilities of that plugin at the time the list was created. As time marches forward, plugin developers like to add nifty little tricks that may go unnoticed - turning what was once complete and up to date into only partially correct.

It might be a nice thing to agglomerate the lists into a single page on the main "Commands" page.  Not go into details on what the commands do (save those for the sub pages)....most folks I think aren't looking for an explanation, just a reference sheet for syntax or options.  For example, in Res, people who have used it know that there are various selection commands, but may not remember the exact way it needs to be typed in, or know each specific way a selection can be made or changed. They wouldn't need an explanation like on the wiki pages, useful though it may be for newbies, but a comprehensive one-sheet of commands that is easily bookmarked and sharable would be keen, especially if we can give it a shortened link to add to /einfo.

Re-sorting the information on the main site (non-wiki) has been on the backburner forever. It's the 2nd or 3rd thing on my personal task list of things to do post server upgrade. It's outgrown itself. At that time I will start a discussion about it. However, it couldn't really hurt to have a wiki page too about commands that maybe goes in depth as a wiki would. The more content the better. As long as it's organized and people can get to it. Google loves more content. I see the non-wiki site having links to the relevant wiki page, but having a reader's digest/quick reference version. Kind of like How the res page is now. I am also thinking of combining the quick references down to one page with jquery dropdowns for each section, to make it look more compact and clean and have it be the real 'Vet Guide'.

This may be more of a support issue, but I have been reading over the Wiki and LoreWiki, and want to contribute content to it. However, when I go to register the registration screen says it's sending me an e-mail to verify/confirm my registration, but no e-mail is actually being delivered. I checked my spam box and settings, and have tried to "resend" the e-mail several times, but it's still not being delivered. I then tried re-registering with a slight variation of my desired username to ensure I correctly entered my e-mail address and such, but I'm still getting the same result. Perhaps there is an error with the registry somewhere?

In regards to a few changes I would like to see, I think an updated list of towns and owners would be nice. Several on the list are either inactive, owners may have been banned, cities no longer exist, etc. Going with that, updated maps of Vetronia and it's towns and cities would be great, and I think some sort of map showing transportation systems (i.e. railroads and portal ship destinations) would be a big help...especially for players who don't have the ability to teleport to other players' locations or a set of coordinates.

These additions would be a bit of a feat to accomplish and likely best be done after the Live Map is re-enabled. I know Pherian is kinda the go-to map guy, but I'm willing to offer my help and skills in accomplishing it too. I have a degree in Geography with a minor in GIS and fairly extensive experience creating and using maps. The only thing I lack is the software to make robust maps, but that could probably change.

The residence guide needs an update fitting with bug fixes, new commands, new flags and the Area Replace trick regarding increasing/moving residences.

The wiki and lore wiki are 2 different wikis with 2 different logins. The regular wiki is only to be modified by selected individuals, however the lore wiki is open for all to contribute. Which one did you try to create an account for?

That is all on the lore wiki which is user contributed. Staff aren't responsible for those changes, so if you see a change you'd like to make, make it. Staff has the ability to roll back changes to the Lore wiki in case something goes wrong or someone tried to grief it. But other than that, it's free range. Please read on the home of the lore wiki the "Posting Guidelines" section.

If you tried to make an account for the Lore Wiki let me know, I will see what's going on if that's not registering.

I do need to update the maps, but I can't do it without help. What would be nice is if people could send me approximate coordinates of their places and I'll do my best to mark them on my custom map. Obviously name of the town as well. :)

I told the doctor I broke my leg in two places. He told me to stop going to those places.

Thank you so much for updating the maps.  The whole reason I play multiplayer is so others can see what I enjoy building.

Wouldnt this be for a whole other page, like the Lore Wiki?  Unless this is for the maps on the Vetronia wiki page...

Regardless, not to clutter everything up on this page, I'd prefer it be its own thread rather than piggy backing ;)

Let me point everyone to this blog post to review the maps/banners/lorewiki stuff:

http://www.veterancraft.net/ta.....-vetronia/

And though they're pretty old, why not revive this thread for wiki maps: http://www.veterancraft.net/fo.....e/page-11/

And this thread for town banners: http://www.veterancraft.net/fo.....r-new-map/

Let's keep this thread on topic- the non-lore wiki wiki updates.
