My understanding is that the elevator works by (a) using the same color wool, and (b) doing vertical (in a sense) lines of such.

Given part of the concept is color-based, I was wondering if it was possible to be able to make elevators that could "jump" a bit to the side vertically...or move horizontally. For example... could I have a "blue" elevator go side to side?

I assume this is not part of the current plug-in. So...a suggestion just in case such as thing is possible and not a pain in the butt.

Hi SlocumFamily2,

If my understanding of your suggestion is correct, what you're suggesting is called a "warp". It already exists, but is not available to players. Staff use warps as part of the portal ships, and community events.

There are 3 steps one must take to profit in today's economy: 1.) Learn from lessons taught by others 2.) Don't give away everything you know.

It's not just a "warp," it'd be a Wonkavator. Wink

The horizontal use elevators would negate the need for rail lines, roads, portal ships, whatever. The map would be filled with excessively cheap and excessively fast Wonkavator networks. Sorry, Maria.

As the developer of this plugin, I can say with 100% certainty that lack of a horizontal ability was intentional and will not be considered.

I must say I really like the elevators. It allows me to build vertically without worrying about wasting time on using large staircases, so I can e.g. build a storage vault and get to it in a flash from my main house. I could also use it for mob spawners and such, so am really looking forward to using these in my designs. =) I am very grateful for the mod,

While other plugins have offered elevator-like functions with signs or making a moving platform, I think our wool/pressure plate approach is unique. While this is an in-house plugin, I will be making a version of this plugin available on BukkitDev for other servers to use in the future.
