Hey guys! Ddawq here, with a neat idea for you! For some time now I've been one the Veterancraft server and I must say, I was missing the extra umph as far as playing goes. As tributing to the server, why not add a class system, where you could supply benefits. Such as(Digger, gets additional mining skills. Or Fletcher, more Damage dealt. Maby something even more... Additional, like a wizard who can set up a dirt fortress around them when they right click.) As you may have also seen, I mentioned races in the suggestion bar, why you clicked this link... Why not add races? Benefits As huge as, Merman who can breath underwater, and heal from it, or Orc doing extra damage(quite generic), or Vampire steals life from enemies. Really hope you guys implement something like this to the world of Veterancraft, Ddawq

There are many fantasy RPGs that use races & classes, however, implementing them in VC could be problematic for two reasons.

First, is game balance:  it is difficult to give any ability or bonus to one group of players that is not available to all players and not make one group more powerful than others.  RPGs try to maintain balance by extensive beta testing, but often fail (World of Warcraft warriors are weak but paladins are godlike, IMHO).  Giving one group an advantage over others, even unintentionally, violates the VC culture of fairness and egalitarianism.

Second, is server mechanics.  VC is very careful about mods it uses both for gameplay impact and server performance.  To implement a race & class system would require additional mods.  The risks of adding these mods would have to be analyzed and mitigated--which begs the question, is it worth the effort?

"And they said, Go to, let us build us a city and a tower, whose top may reach unto heaven; and let us make us a name, lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth." Genesis 11:3-5
