I'd like to have the ability to "purchase" shillings, but i don't want all the perks that come with the donations. I don't want to have any special status, just shillings. Is this a possibility of something that could happen?
The voting system for shillings is kind of sad, only receiving 250 shillings at most (when it works). I remember the good ol' days when killing mobs, or gaining levels in Mcmmo would get you shillings. it was easier to acquire shillings in order to purchase items.

Thank you for your inquiry regarding an ability to purchase Shillings without being encumbered by other sponsorship perks. I am dishearten to hear your lamentations about currently available means to acquire Shillings. However, at this time we find ourselves unable to consider such an ability and our answer remains - No.

A little better and more professional of you. Thank you Frelling.
Must... resist... urge... to... post...
Suggestion: If you want a professional answer, ask a professional question. You could have left out the "baggage" in your original question - hint: deleting the second paragraph before posting. Since Frell's rhetoric escapes you, let me try something more down to earth.
Nothing is going to motivate someone to help you more than whining about it.

Regarding voting, please refer to the announcement made here: http://www.veterancraft.net/fo.....g-sites-1/
In the meantime, if you do want to pay for shillings, then I would suggest becoming a sponsor and then just not using the perks. With the change from Residence to GP last year, most of the "intrinsic" perks were removed. The only one left is the number of /homes you have access to....and you don't have to use them. You also have to have the colored name and title, but those aren't actually "perks."
As for all the other perks, they're all command-based. Just don't use them. I know several Ambassadors and Viceroys who don't use /god, because it makes their play more fun and in line with true Minecraft. That's fine.
Point is, you can easily be a "perk-less sponsor," so long as you have the willpower.
Also, between voting, active play (GP will give you claim blocks, which is like free money if that's why you want shills), and the economy, salaries aren't necessarily the best way to make money....so long as you're an active player.
But since there are a lot of wheels in motion, and this is how the sponsorship system is, there's no point in debating it. Take it or leave it.
