IIRC, after the mess that it was the last time, the thought was to wait until the dedicated server was online and then frelling would look into a Hunger Games mod.

I was mainly due to the fact that no one was paying attention to what was said and it took like an hour to set up the first round.

I didn't say disaster, just a mess.

It seemed to be like herding cats. These people over here, those people over there, no wait you're not in this group, hey how did you get over there, wait we're not starting yet, ok we're ready now, hey we're ready everyone start, no you died in the last round you can't play, etc.

It did work, but I clearly remember that the staff wanted nothing to do with it again until there was a mod to control the game itself.

It is also safe to say we went into that event not anticipating many of the problems that arose. It was certainly a leaning experience for everyone involved.
Personally I would rather wait until we can get a plugin implemented.

And let me guess, the one way doors I built just made everything worse. But that's kind of sad. Maybe we coul have a non-event game? Sort of like what icyspawn did a while back and just get the contestants together, not make a big deal about. And just party chat it out?

The main issue that I have had with hosting events is getting the entire crowd to listen to what we are trying to say. Some of you guys are great about it, others, not so much. Kiss What this ends up doing is making us go way over the time that we intended and makes things more frustrating in general. Another thing that this leads to is the person who isn't listening ends up getting snapped at, and even though no harm is meant the person can still take it hurtfully. So basically, this is why the first hunger games was a "mess." Wink
