This actually made me think of GUTS.  Have 4 random rounds, each one gives points to whoever wins first (300), second (200) and third (100) (one of the rounds could have that kind of play that you proposed). The last round is The Aggro Crag.  I guess what we could do is find an extreme hills biome and have people climb all the way to the top of the mountain where they press a button, points going to their respected places.  First gets 725, second gets 550, third gets 375. Person with the most points overall gets first place.

This could also be set up as tournament style, depends on how many players join.
