Both have been out for awhile but sadly they don't seem like they will ever be given a recipe by mojang.  That said they are legit blocks currently only attainable in the case of chiseled stone from jungle temples, each temple containing 3.  The cracked stone brick is only obtainable from strongholds which are against the rules to destroy/dig up.  My thought was what about adding these rare blocks to one of the McMMO loot tables.  Ideally they would be a possible drop from mining but there is no loot table for mining that I am aware of.  So perhaps for very high level fishing or digging these could be added?  Perhaps like a drop from digging clay with a digging skill level of 1000 or something high.  The goal is not to make them common and cheap but just to make them actually available for builds and people to decorate with, at least sparingly.  The only other way of allowing them would require a recipe plugin that allows you to create your own recipes for the server like one eye of ender and stone brick to make a circle stone etc.

If possible, I'd enjoy getting my hands on these rare stone blocks too, especially for the new spawn build. Not sure about how possible it is, but it'd be nice.

I told the doctor I broke my leg in two places. He told me to stop going to those places.

I'd be OK with this. But the drop rate would be ridonkulously low, like much lower than diamonds. To keep it still rare, but obtainable.

@Frelling how hard is it to add that?

Making it obtainable for people is all I am looking for, I am totally cool with it being a low drop or requiring a crazy skill level and then low drop rate once you reach said number.  Fishing has some crazy drops at high skill level but few ever make it that high, I have taken some stabs at it and am still only around 350.

I've added this to the Things To Look At list for the 1.5 update.

Something I thought of since suggesting this, what about replacing mushrooms or the music discs on the loot table if this is put in digging?  Both can be obtained pretty easily by other means so its not useful at all having them drop from excavation.  In fact its a hassle, not sure how many dozens of music discs I have had to toss in a disposal sign.

I would certainly concur with this suggestion!

I love the idea of getting the blocks extremely rarely out of clay, or maybe the chiseled stone from clay and the cracked stone from gravel?  I do agree with them being very rare.

I also like getting rid of music discs, or making them even more rare than they are now....like Compass-frequency.  I sort of feel the same way about cakes....I have over 100 now, and since they don't stack they take up a lot of storage room.  I'm going to have to start selling them.

Perhaps there are others materials that could be looked at for McMMO drops?  Feathers from grass?  A rare iron ingot from dirt?  A very rare gold nugget from gravel?

I also agree, it would be nice to be able to add some of these nicer blocks to my different builds just to spice it up. I think that it would be kinda cool to get some "fire" from soul sand so that i could add some chain armor to my collection, at a really low rate though. Just an idea :D

This is getting off topic, but you don't need "fire" to get chain armor. I sell all chain armor pieces in my shop near vetropolis harbor ;-) Only 1200 for the full set.

It is possible to get Cracked Stone Brick using Berserk on Stone Brick. That is not our doing, but a feature added by the mcMMO developers. You might want to go to their forums and suggest a similar feature for Chiseled Stone.

For now, we are going to keep mcMMO drops/loot tables set to their default settings. These change regularly with new releases as they balance things out. We may explore some other options later without having to add yet another configuration exception that has to be reconciled with every update. However, there are many more important actions items and tasks on our plates for the next two months.

I was somewhat optimistic since meat gave approval and I know a good number of donors and staff that would of liked circle stone added.  Its cool that the mcmmo developers added the ability to crack stone bricks, thank you for sharing that info.  Doing a quick look back at server news it seems we update about once every 3 months so I guess that would give plenty of time for the mcmmo developers to add it as a possible drop.  However they are making it for a variety of servers, many that have mining maps changed regularly or recipe plugins that provide players with the option of obtaining chiseled stone already, so it could be a tough sell.  I am not sure of the full configuration changes you have to make for this server specifically or how hard it is to do, I understand if doing so every 3 months is more then you would like to do it though.

No. We do not have 3 mo plugin update policy. Our policy is based on whether there are bug fixes, or significant features of interest; qualified by many other maintenance and performance criteria. In regards to Meat's approval post, it was contingent upon my evaluation and I sufficiently explains the reason why we are not doing in my previous post. Furthermore, I didn't close the door on this given the operative words  "For now," and "we may explore some other options later". But, FOR NOW, this matter is closed.
