Hello ladies and gents,

An often encountered problem VeteranCraft is the transportation of mobs. For example, horses cannot go through Portal Ship portals. Now, let's think of this on the realistic side: If we really wanted to make it look like the ship was actually traveling from point A to B, and not some funky quantum mechanics theory, a horse put on the boat should come along with you to the destination of the boat. This includes transporting farm animals to an area where they don't spawn naturally (i.e. Mooshrooms to anywhere but the Mushroom Island and Farm Animals to some place they don't spawn).

Here is a solution I offer: The ability to carry mobs. I remember at a certain point MobCatcher was a suggested idea. But I do not think it would be fitting and/or legit for someone to have the ability to be lifting a couple hundred pounds of cattle in his inventory across the map.

What I suggest: A mod that would permit players to capture mobs in a similar fashion to MobCatcher (Where you can put a mob in it's respective monster egg by chucking a regular egg at it), however, that the player carrying a mob be slowed down relative to the size of the mob he's carrying. For example, a horse, which has a 2x2x2 hitbox, would slow the player down by a factor of 4 (Height * Length).

However, you ask yourself, wouldn't a player just be able to ride a Minecart, a horse, use ender pearls or compass (If applicable) or quite simply teleport home? Well, no. First off, the use of compass, ender pearls, /home and any other form of tp would be disabled while a player is carrying a mob. For the minecart and horse issue, the player will only be able to carry a mob for a certain amount of time, again, depending on their weight.

Why? Well, first off, the original purpose of "Carrying Mobs" is to let them go through portals, not to be able to carry them forever. Second, pretty much any mob will fit inside a Minecart, so you could simply put them on a separate minecart.

The weight system also resolves the issue with anyone who would want to carry the ender dragon (As the level of slowness applied to the player would be too much). Also, as much as it pains me to say so, it would prevent a player to transport a Ghast, meaning you and your matchstick house can rest... for now.

The issues with this "Mod": It doesn't exist. This is just a suggestion. I have next to no coding knowledge, so I wouldn't be able to code it myself. However, I know this would be possible because it is possible to create this mod with command blocks.

Please give your opinion on this and any suggestions if you happen to have some  :)

That sounds good Snow, would probly take some doing on the technical side of things though.

If I understand correctly, you mean to make mobs into an Item  I.E. and Egg (enchanted or something like that I guess) while holding it you can't tp or do /home ect.. ?? But what would stop a player putting the Mob Egg into an enderchest, then doing /home or tp to another enderchest ?

If I have miss-understood, my apologies :)
