I recommend TreeAssist. It is my all-time favorite plugin. Its like Timber! mod but it replants the tree! And the leaves decay much faster! Here is the link. http://dev.bukkit.org/server-m.....ee-assist/ enjoy. :D

If this was added wouldn't it make Tree feller pretty redundant?

While convenient, wouldn't that defeat the purpose of the legit atmosphere the server has anyway? Do the work. It's not hard to cut down a tree and then slap down a sapling right afterward.

I'm pretty sure this would be useful provided it didn't replant automatically. Tree feller has issues with large jungle trees, and sometimes Large Oak trees. I'm not sure if this actually works on every log the tree has, but if it does it would be a nice alternative.

So what if treefeller doesn't take down the biggest tree in the forest... a mod that does it for you spells out l-a-z-y to me.

Unless "mom! more hot pockets!" is a common phrase in your house, climb a tree and do it yourself.

it would be nice though if something like this was what you got from the tree feller ability.

In short, thank you for the suggestion, but we will not consider this plugin. Its spawning of saplings (not taken out of inventory) goes against our policies; and its lack of a timer on its auto-remove feature just spells disaster in the hands of a griefer.

Furthermore, this is not in line with what we consider Notch-style gameplay or SMP. Its far too easy to harvest trees without much effort. We might as well add an auto-strip mining plugin to boot or switch to creative.

McMMO already provides reasonable perks for those that are diligent in leveling their woodcutting skills - double/triple drops, leaf blower, and tree feller. Yes, tree feller doesn't work with some very large trees, but that is intentional. Where would the fun be in creating a 100x100 tree farm and taking it down with one stroke with tree feller.

If you're driven to harvest a lot of wood, please consider building a tree farm. Even a simple 5x10 densely packed farm can be swiped with a single stroke of tree feller. Granted, that will only work for oak trees, but think of how impressive your birch palace will be seem when we know that you had to labor for the materials Smile

I'd just like to add that an auto-planting of a sapling would make clearing trees (which is very common when you're about to build something) a pain in the rump. I appreciate where you were going with this, but I agree with frelling.

In a perfect world, biomes might grow trees naturally like in real world, if untamed. But it's minecraft and there are limitations.
