Frelling is indisposed for the next week or so. He has asked me to step in to help with the technical side of Veterancraft. Don't bother asking where he is, I don't know. He will be back over the weekend, but his mother is having a hip replacement surgery next week.
I will try to fill in his shoes as best I can. Remember that I'm coming onboard a speeding train. I will be focusing on the bare essentials. These are my ground rules:
- If you have major problems or needs, post it in the forums. Don't wait to ambush me after I log in. If you do, you won't find me very receptive. The more information you provide upfront, the easier and quicker it will be for me to deal with whatever emergency you perceive in your reality.
- Don't waste my time. I have a full time job and a side business. I am moving my schedule around to make more time to periodically check on the server and work on some of the issues boiling over on the back burner.
I said earlier that I don't have the patience of Job like Frelling. If you are laughing right now, there is good chance that you are one that should be thankful. If you don't think Frelling has patience, you will, after you experience my lack of it. If you are up-front, honest, and provide details that will help me help you, you will find that getting along with me is easy. If you feign innocences, try to twist my words around, or attempt feeble mind games with me, you will find yourself holding the short stick - just ask my 10-year and 12-year old sons and 16-year old daughter.
I have no vested interest in Veterancraft. If Meat boots me because the rest of you perceive me as a tyrant, so it shall be. But I also know the vision that Meat and Frell have for Veterancraft and I will do my best to make sure that it moves forward. Just try to avoid becoming roadkill along the way.

Anyone who thinks frelling has no patience doesn't realize the hours he puts into this project. Their ignorance is simply ignorance and they don't understand that this this guy has dedicated hundreds of hours that he should be charging $100/hour for, to let the server run like a well oiled machine on the technical side.
They also don't realize that mudwog has been helping frelling inconspicuously with testing for hours during updates.
What I'm asking from the players is to realize we need mud's help, and that he's a TECH guy, he's not HR, and doesn't handle bans or other things I and the other staff handle. He will only handle basics: ie: upgrade accounts, major issues that may occur, etc.
How do you know if it's worthy of being considered an urgent matter? Best to just post it in the forums and if it demands immediate attention, I'll make sure mudwog gets the word.
Thanks everyone for your understanding and for having a respectful attitude towards mudwog during this time.

Greetings:
Just wanted to let everyone know that I'm back in town. I apologize for the unannounced departure last week, but it was as much of a surprise to me as everyone else. After sleeping on a cot for 6 nights, I'm just happy that I have my comforts of home again
I'd like to extend a sincerest thanks to Mudwog for stepping in. I see he made a lot of progress on some back burner items. However, I will have to ask him to continue this for another week (I'll be dropping off the bribe later today). Although my mother's surgery has been postponed for at least a month, I will be extremely busy this week. I have to put my lawyer hat on and behead a few people at her nursing home. In addition, there are many RL back burner items that need my attention and I can't see myself having any amount of reasonable time for at least another week.
The good news is that I am more reachable and maybe I can convince mudwog to try taking on a few more challenging tasks. There are a few plugin upgrades that need to be made and many Bukkit beta build release notes that need to be reviewed.
Best,
Frelling

A cot? Man I wish I could hear the story but I'm sure you'd have to kill me if you told me, so that's cool. Glad that it was just work related and nothing like you keeling over or something.
