Hello.

Sorry for bothering about this again...

If I understood LWK's answer that he gave me here: http://www.veterancraft.net/fo.....ry/page-2/   in the right way, by tomorrow (August 1st) I'll no longer have access to any residenced area, especially to my formerly own ones. This is why LWK advised me to request the removal of those residences until... today.

If this is the right interpretation, I request the removal of my former residences: Dreyzden, Tahone and ImamMosque.

If you were anyway going to remove Residence entirely, forget this request. I'm just worrying about the access to my stuff. The statement "..but they [residences] will become locked" (Arda FAQ 4.1) for me sounds like: there will be no access anymore. (idiot-proof sentences are not necessarily pauli-proof obviously ;) )

Thanks!

While that was the original intent, the whole Residence cleanup is a multi-headed beast of its own. We are currently busy with other more pressing tasks, which will most likely delay the cleanup of any "sold" residences. But all in all, the goal hasn't change, its just a matter of when. Chances are that we will not start the clean up process until 8/22 when 50%-refunded residences would also become locked. For the time being, Residences will not be further locked down. In most cases, as we work through all them, they will just be removed unless there are special circumstances.

Human beings, who are almost unique in having the ability to learn from the experiences of others, are also remarkable for their disinclination to do so. - D. Adams

This thread made me wonder if I really understand what's going to happen with residences on Vet.

To confirm: the residence layer is going to be removed, but builds aren't touched, correct?  I put claims on most of my res'd areas in Vet, and if what I've built and stored there is going to be removed, I need to start dealing with that.

Relevant quotes from the FAQ:

"Once the transition is complete and players have been given a suitable period of time to strip their old Residence and vacate, the sold Residences will be removed."

"Active Players and Current Donors with Residences will be allowed to keep them, but they will become locked."

"Any player that wishes to build in Vetronia will be allowed to do so without fear that their work will be wiped."
