I designed this airship and was wondering if it would be approved or not. Have not built it in Veterancraft yet.

Also if anyone has any ideas on how to make it look better I am open for suggestions.

Hey, I'm sorry, but I'll have to deny this.  That's not to say that some aspects of this aren't appealing, but the problems are:

1) The dragon doesn't look like a balloon.  Because we don't have real-world physics, being air-worthy must look air-worthy.

2) The gondola (ship) is too large.  You've got two halves here, and one would be more appropriate.

So I encourage you to modify it as follows:

1) Make the dragon more balloon-like.  It can still have accents that give it a dragony shape, but I'd lose the legs, and try to stick to a more typical shape

2) The balloon can't have too much non-cloth, so I would lose the iron and redstone.  Non-cloth should be limited to binding lines.

3) Greatly decrease the size of the gondola, but in doing so you open up some space to add more accents.

It's a great first start, but it just needs some work.  Good luck!

The balloon looks awesome, too bad it cannot be approved. I am not sure if this is allowed, but maybe change the mainshape to be more balloon like, and have the legs hanging on the side? Not sure how much this interferes with the airworthyness of the ship, you'd have to evaluate Keith. Just throwing in an idea :)

1) I can work on the balloon aspect. The body was supposed to be the balloon and then I added on to it. Perhaps increase the size of the balloon.

2) I think if you check, the double hulled gondola is not any bigger than the single ones most people build. The two hulls are much smaller than most of the hulls others make. I marked off an area according to your specifications for air ships at Exodus to try to make sure I kept the size under control.

3) Obviously I failed, but the legs were not supposed to be part of the balloon, but the supports that held the balloon to the ship. If I figure out a way to make them obviously not a part of the balloon, but blend in would that be okay?

Edited: I just went and checked out airships at Exodus and I see the ship portion is smaller. I was obviously thinking about the ships, not the airships. Darn. I really liked the double hull design, but the balloon would have to be huge.

Would this be more appropriate for the size of ship and balloon?

I missed this, sorry.  Yes, if you did want to have just some tiny legs on the balloon, "vestigial"-like, that would be alright.  So long as it's cosmetic and not structural.

The only thing I need to know is what the exact size is, if you're intending on using this ship at Exodus.

Thank you.

I was thinking of using some lime green clay around the supports, not completely covering them, but to make it look like legs holding the ship.

And I was planning on setting it up between my place and Greens new market. Just have to wait for him to get on and give me permissions. I'll build one ship at my place and then wait for him to come back.
