James:

Without us knowing where Rome is (in Veterancraft that is) and having to search res lists or other telltale hints, could you please provide its coordinates. Also you didn't mention the size of the boat you are looking for. Obviously, the size will be dependent on the waterway to your place. It would be inconceivable for a large warship to make it through a 1 block deep swamp or a 5 block wide river; whereas a dingy could.

You have the option of building your own boat at the destination provided it meets with general design motives (best to submit a photo of an idea) or you can hire someone to build one. Given that it is Aug 1st, I will not be building any large warships until we have completed our server migration. You can certainly request one, but just keep in mind that delivery may be as far off as a month or more.

James,

Your residence Rome is landlocked, which means it would be ineligible for a portal ship from the spawn island. My suggestion for you is to wait until the airship dock is up and running - any day now - and apply for a hot air balloon or something similar.

Sincerely,

Anthony Hughes

Sidenote: The river 300 blocks to Rome's east is barely connected to the ocean, even though it doesn't seem like it because at 2 points it goes through a tunnel. It wouldn't fit a large ship though, a boat and maaaaybe a really small and not tall ship. However, you're 2 breakpoints removed from connecting to a river that would support a small portalboat. If you want something large, chances are you're out of luck due to tunnels, bridges and narrow water.

I actually took a peak at Rome earlier and it looks like its coming along well.  As stated a few times earlier, it might be of the best interest to not have a boat go there.  Rather, when our airship docks are complete, that would be ideal.  Since they're not completed just yet, it should give you some time to think, plan, and possibly incorporate the airship into your plans at Rome.  If you do that now, you'll be in good shape for when the airship ports are ready at spawn.

Please click on the following link to familiarize yourself with what we have in concept for the airships/airship docks:

Thanks for the feed back guys i really enjoy it but ill consider the airship and just to note the river just south west of Rome connects to the ocean i rode my boat down the river and it seemed good to me the style of my boat wasn't that big either. An airship would allow me to make it bigger... ill consider it thanks again guys!
