Possible Extended AFK | Off Topic | Forum

Hello all,

I would like to inform the VC community, and particularly the staff, that I may be away from VC for longer than the 30 days that is normally used to determine a player's account status. The reason being that I have received military orders to attend a nearly year-long training course to become an Air Force meteorologist.... for those of you that may know a little bit more about me, you did read that correctly: Air Force, hehe. Early this past spring I re-enlisted and crossed branches from the Marine Corps Reserve to the Air Force Reserve to be a meteorologist and I have been waiting since then for a school date; well, my school begins on Monday and I'm currently in transit from Central IL to the Gulf Coast. I do not yet know what my living situation, internet access, or free time will be like yet, but there is a strong possibility I will not have the time or resources to play Minecraft/VC (real life does have to come first, lol..) for quite a while. However, the opposite could be true; I may find myself with ample time such as on the weekends when I could still login and everything would be fine, but I just don't know yet. As such, I am requesting that staff not delete my account information, inventory, claims, etc if my account goes for more than 30 days without any activity. If it seems like I have to completely abandon Minecraft, I'll make a follow up post here stating so.

In case anyone is curious, my school down South starts on Monday and goes through about mid-June of 2015. After that, I come back north to a base in Illinois and will do 2-4 months (or more depending on mission needs) of on-the-job training. Then after that, who knows; maybe I'll go back to reserve status and find a civilian job, maybe I'll go to another training school, or maybe explore the world so to say. This was pretty short notice for me; I had no clue when my class would start until I literally got a phone call on Wednesday that I had to be on-base on Thursday afternoon and then leave to start training on Monday. So in <24 hours I had to quit my job, pack my life up, say goodbye to my wife/family and get on the road. Talk about stressful, hehe.

Anyways, it's been a great time on VC so far; hopefully I'll be able to keep playing, whether that be sooner or later .
