And this is a must have.

EDIT: This forum software sucks =/. It doesn't want me to link the videos either way, and I tried 3 different ways.

I like most genres except for country. I like 80s music, but not the silly electronic stuff like Boy George. My favorite genre is soundtracks (specifically movie scores). My favorite composers/writers are Hans Zimmer, Steve Jablonsky, and Howard Shore.

My favorite band is U2 - favorite U2 album is The Joshua Tree - favorite U2 song is a tie between With or Without You, and Bad.

I mostly listen to movie scores which are usually calm and relaxing, but I like heavy bands like Killswitch Engage too. I just love music in general!

I should create a separate off topic thread for my favorite movie score tracks - I have a ton :)

Edit: oops, I forgot - I just discovered "The Piano Guys" and I really dig their stuff lately too!

My favorite band is U2

Mine too! I like all kinds of music too, except dubstep and most country. I'm actually a musician (drummer). I have played in punk bands (lol), jazz and contemporary/rock bands for about 15 years. Here's a band I played for in 2007:

@Meat - that's awesome!  Your music sounds really good!  (especially the drumsWink)

Okay, I spent way too much time putting down *some* of my favorite soundtrack/movie score music into a Spotify playlist.

Disclaimer - just because I like the music doesn't mean I like (or have even seen) the movie (although maybe I do for some of them, like Lord of the Rings!)

So here is the playlist (sorry, you need Spotify to play it):

Favorite Movie Scores

Hmm - actually I might be able to embed - try this link to see if you can see/play them from the web:

https://sites.google.com/site/hbmoviescores/

That's the only way I could think to share, without illegally putting them on a share site.

And this is not my complete list either - I've been "collecting" soundtrack music over the (many) years, so I'll probably be updating that list.

I listen these while I work, game, cook, etc.  In fact, I didn't realize that FRAPs recorded music you have in the background, so the video I posted of the EnderDragon fight last night has a nice soundtrack to it, even though that wasn't the intent - it just happened to be what I was listening to at the time :)

P.S. If you have a favorite score that isn't on my list, let me know - I would probably love to add it!

I don't listen to much music that isn't indie, and the indie i DO listen to, nobody's ever heard of, lol.  So instead, i thought i would plug some of the bands i've worked with in the past, and you can cast your own judgement:)

I would agree, but then I saw what the song was. Still though, sideburns, man.

How did I just now see this? Anyway, I just listened to the music from that band you played in and you guys sound very good! I love U2 as well, by the way.

Yeah I realize that this isn't technically a band or anything even close to that, but the sound track to Dr. Horrible's Sing Along Blog is absolutely amazing. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v.....pp1y9zfAv8

Also, my favorite band is Pink Floyd by and large. Really anything from that genre is great though.

Bad is such an awesome song - like I said in the above quote - it's tied for my favorite song. It's so chill and deep at the same time.  I love the story behind that song too.

You guys are/were good!  Any covers of my other favorite U2 song?

BTW - Running to stand still is another EPIC song too!

Any covers of my other favorite U2 song?

Unfortunately no, not on video anyway. We didn't really get to play much together :(

We played other covers from similar artists as well.

One of the most fun bands I was in was a punk band in the late 90's (I was just in high school). It was fun, but looking back, the music was a lot cooler to us than anyone else. As I've gotten a little older I realize there's certain music people like to play, then there's music that's marketable in a local market... cover songs. The dreams of getting famous with original music faded and reality set in.

I've thought about doing a christmas/rock/blues band once a year... Charge tons of money to play at corporate holiday parties. Still considering it. Seasonal income :) (even though I don't jam to xmas music in my car, I'd rather get paid $500 an hour to play xmas music than get paid nothing to play my favorite music)
