While Stannis Baratheon claims to bear it, and indeed possesses a sword which glows with the color of fire but gives off no heat, characters have doubted whether his weapon is genuine, and whether King Stannis is truly the Prince that was Promised.

It is not the fact that I don't want this sword, but the fact that it belongs to Azor Ahai reborn, commonly known as Jon Snow, and not I that I can't lay claim to it as the pretender Stannis did
