I've seen worse *shudders* which we've approved in the past, but I've also seen better.  We do like to encourage good builds, especially those going to Exodus as it's sort of VC's "showcase," but we also acknowledge the wide range of building abilities and won't hold that too much against anyone.

Put simply, yes, I'd approve it.  It meets all the requirements for a sailing ship, and serves the need.  It's not a bad ship, it's just very simple.  If it wasn't for the fences, I'd actually say this was a good "MC Alpha" ship.

However, if you are looking to improve it, I can certainly provide some pointers.  Coincidentally, over the last week I've been building my portal ship, and I had been cataloging the progress to make into a guide. I finished it last night, and it may help you.

You mention copying a ship build you found....if you're going to do that, I would recommend looking into the link I give in the guide, to Sillouete's Ships.  You can download them and get a good feel for how they work.  Some of those ships even meet our standards for Exodus, or can be modified to do so.

Lastly, if you're looking for specific critiques of this ship you posted, I have a few things that would make a huge difference.  If you need more, I can provide them.

• Use more than planks.  Especially for the masts, use logs.
• Get some wind in those sails.  You can tilt the sails if you wish, but more importantly just don't let them hang there like a wall.
• Add some detail.  More windows, cannons, decorative blocks, iron cladding, a ship's wheel, etc.
