In doing some thinking about a ship I have planned for the far future, I was looking into an OLD Creative project, a from-scratch replica of the Royal Caribbean Cruise ship, the Voyager of the Seas.  Using nothing but online documents, mostly pages from the official site for the ship like this one, http://voyager-class.com/desig.....llery.html, I recreated the ship as best as I could given Minecraft materials.

It was never completed, and once lighting was introduced it was never fully lit, but you can get a good idea of what the finished product would be.

Length: ~320 meters

Width: ~50 meters at widest point

Height: ~60 meters above sea level (unfinished), ~12 meters below sea level

# of Rooms: Uncounted.  Because of MC wall thickness, it's less than the IRL version, but still above 400 I'm positive.

Last but not least, attached is the world save file!  It's in 1.6.  Feel free to look around, count the rooms for me, nuke it with TNT, whatever. :) http://www.mediafire.com/?75z1.....kk0k7ak151

Thanks, meat!

The planning that went into this is directly relevant to the ship I'm planning, which even in the early stages of planning feels pretty spectacular.  The Leviathan-Class HAF Kh'rhiathu luxury cruiseliner.  Many of the features in the ship above will be included in some way, although smaller in scale, of course.  But there will be numerous staterooms subzoned for sale, if/when it's ever built.  It should complement Highmoor very nicely

Hehe, yeah, not bad for Alpha/Beta.  It was made mostly before paintings and stairs and even lighting.  But ya do what ya can with what ya have.

My goodness....it's amazing. Extremely detailed, and very nice interior designs.

You're the reason I cry myself to sleep at night.

I told the doctor I broke my leg in two places. He told me to stop going to those places.

Oh my gosh. That is really really cool. I devote most of my time on Minecraft to interior designing for people and man I could learn a lot from that ship. And lol @ Pherian, your work is amazing too man don't worry Laugh
I'm going to download this file once I figure out how and study that entire thing. Most likely counting the rooms as I go so I'll get back to you on that.

Yay

Thanks guys!

Pher, right back at ya!  Redridge haunts my dreams.

Frenchy, it's a dead project, you're welcome to download the file and finish it yourself. :)

Sheep, thanks!  Once you download the zip file just extract the whole folder into your saves folder and it should open just fine.  Beware that it was converted to 1.6, though.  If you count all the rooms, I'll be very impressed!  Some notes: 1) remember the lower decks, there are a lot of rooms right above the engine room to accommodate the conference facilities. 2) Don't forget the crew bunks. 3) The officer quarters and captain's quarters are right behind the bridge. 4) Rooms behind a dark grey frame are service areas and storage, not rooms.
