I started this project simply because I wanted somewhere to ride my horses.  Picking your way through trees and around cliffs takes all the speed and fun out of being on horseback.  I wanted something that would conform to three, self-imposed, limitations: it would not consume real estate, it would not disturb the natural look of the area it goes through, and it would not be a major engineering project to re-route if necessary.

A three block wide trail would meet the need and be easy to ride upon.  But it needed to be marked so it could be followed across open areas.  I chose dandelions as the markers to keep the trail compatible with nature, because they are bright, and because they are ubiquitous.

The result is Dandelion Trail.  Currently, it is in two sections, but I'm working to join the two as you read this.  The upper section starts just south of the West Portal boundary, where you can find the Dandelion Trail Stables.  The lower section terminates at Drachenreich Border Gate #1.

At Dandelion Trail Stables, you can purchase a horse for a single gold bar--half the cost of what it takes to breed one and less than the cost to summon one.  You can also buy a saddle or reins for about the same prices as New Glacia shops.

Right now, the trail goes through 14 biomes (4 more biomes before the sections are joined), crosses 2 bridges, and connects to 5 NPC villages.trailmap.jpgImage Enlargerdandeliontrail-stables.jpgImage EnlargerBorderGate1.jpgImage Enlargercobblebridge.jpgImage Enlargerarchbridge.jpgImage Enlarger

The entire trail is now complete!  The two sections have been joined.  It is now possible to ride all the way from the West Portal boundary to Drachenreich.
