Reasoning and Initial Thoughts

Hydriquin (possible name change in the future) is the first underwater city that will be built in Vetronia. It is going to be built very far northeast in the map to give that part of the ocean something significant and a reason to go there. It will also serve as a port that people can head to and then leave in search of a far away island that isn't near a bunch of people. It will be lead by Hobomonkey0052 and myself.

The Buildings

The buildings will have a very royal feel to them. Suggestions are appreciated.

How You Can Help

You can help by posting suggestions and thoughts in this thread, and by telling me that you want to join the workforce for this project.

DONATIONS

Donations are going to be the deciding factor on how quickly this project goes. I need donations of items (glowstone, lapis, gold blocks, glass, stone bricks, white wool, etc.) for the building and money for the residence, portal ship, etc. However, if you can't do either of those, you can also donate by helping me out with building and clearing. I will come up with some sort of reward to those who help me out in these ways.

Current Project: Capital Building - Current State: 3/4 Finished

From this picture, you can see that the Capital building is close to finishing. All I must put on are a few more walls, the roof, and the wing-like things that extend from every corner. Help is still appreciated, which you can find out about in the "DONATIONS" section.

Conclusion

Thanks for reading, feel free to give feedback and talk to me.

I have awesome shoulders.

Love the idea. Looking forward to the construction of it!

I told the doctor I broke my leg in two places. He told me to stop going to those places.

Curious to see how it turns out =) I have always had an interest in building underwater in Minecraft...perhaps Bilgewater will need a trading outpost in the far southern seas! 😀 Are the buildings going to just stand on their own underwater or are there going to be some domes and such?

If by domes and such, you mean the things covering the water so it can't get in, then yes, there will be those.

ya, I guess the difference I meant was like, will the building be actually touching the water, or will the building be inside of an enclosure...doesn't really matter, either way its cool, I was just curious 😀

Well, if I could have them touching the water without everyone drowning, etc., that would be amazing lol. So I have to go with the enclosure.

It's pretty easy to use the water physics in such a way that it forms an underwater waterfall past an opening, letting you cross straight into the water. =)

Thanks guys! And now that I think about it, if I clear all of the water, res it, and set the flag to have no water flowing, it COULD be possible to have no enclosure, and still no water going everywhere.

Hey ryan, I really like your idea. But I cannot recommend you to keep the water outside by only resing the city. I noticed, if you res a flow of water, it usually doesn't stop flowing, although the default flag for flow is set to false (...maybe I'm mistaken?). So, if once there should be problems with the residences (which what I do not hope, of course), the ocean will flood your town and will be very difficultly to expel afterwards.
Anyway, you can count on my hands, too. Just give the coords and a simple job to do. 😉
