Hello folks, may I introduce my new city- Bremerhaven!

Located on the western shores of Thuringia, Bremerhaven has been established as the capital of New Innsbruck by settlers fleeing the decay of [old] Innsbruck and Vetropolis. It will serve as the capital city and primary harbor of the Kingdom of New Innsbruck.

Like many new colonies, the people of Bremerhaven have brought their home culture with them, including a Germanic-themed building style. Unlike their old home though, Bremerhaven is not anticipated to be a highly militaristic state; instead, the military will be just one pillar of several that support the Kingdom of New Innsbruck. Other pillars include economics, industry, shipping, and religious tolerance.

This last point, religious tolerance, is one that the inhabitants of the city want to stress. They understand the influence that religion can play in a society and as such welcome with open arms any and all religions that become established in Arda, be them Judeo-Christian, Beaconist, Nordic, Mythologic, Eastern, etc. The people will be glad to host a shrine/church/religious structure for any and all religions.

Bremerhaven itself is currently planned into 4 main districts, as outlined in the map below. They include

1.) A Capital District that will host the capital building, various ministries, arenas, temples, statues, etc.

2.) A "Hill Burough" or Hill District. This is where the affluent merchants and middle class of the city are settling. The housing plots sit on a series of small hills surrounded by trees, ponds, and garden plots. All-in-all it's supposed to be a nice, pleasant place to live. The bottom picture below exemplifies what to expect in this area.

3.) A Harbor and Industrial District. This is where the gears will be grinding and the ships will be sailing. The focus in this district will be the various industries and merchants that drive the economy of New Innsbruck and link the region to outside regions via ocean shipping lanes. Already several industries have popped up- A stone mill, blacksmith, and metal foundry/cannon forge have all set up shop already. See the second and third pics below of the stone mill.

4.) A castle. This will be the crown-jewel castle of the Kingdom and is expected to be a very-long term endeavor. No pics yet because it's still in the planning and visionary stage.

Lastly I will add that the Kingdom of New Innsbruck is part of the North Shore Alliance with Vivol and it's King NetherSpartan5. Though not focusing specifically on militaristic endeavors, the Kingdom of New Innsbruck will come to the collective defense of other members of the NSA, though the hope is to resolve things peacefully before war breaks out. So that's that! Stop on by and see what this place is about! I'll be sure to post future happenings and events as time passes.

Hello all, so I think I may write this thread more like an article you would read in a newspaper or news bulletin instead of a more descriptive narrative like other threads. This style will condense information a bit and may feel a little choppy between various topics, but that's sort of the idea; to be a snapshot of what's happening. I'm finding this style to be a bit easier to write at the moment and I feel like it suits my purpose in creating this thread a bit better, so, here it goes!

News

Work in Bremerhaven continues on at a decent pace! The last few weeks have mainly seen development in the industrial district of Bremerhaven adjacent to the harbor as new businesses move in, while farther north a small farm establishment is setting up shop to feed the slowly growing population of Bremerhaven... as well as feed the laborers that are constructing the Thuringian Parliamentary building. Several of the laborers seem be starting a custom of squid hunting during their break times in the adjacent ocean too... while it's not clear where the calamari is going, the local government is grateful for the blank ink and dye that are helping to prop up a new merchant that peddles dyes, wool, and other textiles.

Not too many new houses are going up right now- new comers to the area are being "highly encouraged" to work on the new parliament building instead of their own homes, and the city council is stuck in a debate over where to place cheaper public housing and apartment-type dwelling structures. Hopefully the issue will be resolved in the next week or two.

The harbor is still a bit bear, but engineers have been working to get the dry dock up and running to service the cogs, caravels, and galleons that will hopefully find their berth in Bremerhaven!
