Babylon (Zigurat)

Hello all,

I feel like I have been working on this project long enough that i should go ahead and post a few things about the town

http://i.imgur.com/7Ym3bT7.pngImage Enlarger

The picture above is our town plan

Current Issues

Some of the first kinks to be ironed out are our plans for expansion, to the north is a swamp biome that we intend to place a small dock for boats on the gateway to the north, and to the east, we intend on having a large dock where our portal ship will rest. There are also various bodies of water snaking through the town of Babylon that are going to become small channeled waterways.

Homes

there will be multiple options and opportunities to live in Babylon in the following house styles (prices TBD):

Crazy Cheap Housing

This housing style will be quaint but plentiful. The houses will snake and curve much as what you would see in a Favella.

Nice Plot Houses

Contrary to the "plot" in the title, these will not be free build, we will premanufacture multiple multistory homes, each with many amenities such as a garden and furnishings.

Palatial Living

Ever wanted to live like the royalty you are? Palatial suites will be available to donators and long time players only. The palace will be large and in the center of all.

Infrastructure

Rail

There will be a rail station positioned at the Ziggurat of Anuk, another large build to be started on. Many small subway stations will be accessible throughout the city.

Roads

If you have been to the Ziggurat or have heard in chat, we are using quartz for our vast system of main roads, we will use a different material for secondary roads that are to be determined.

Horses

Yes, horse! we will be incorporating infrastructure to allow for the easy usage of horses throughout the town.

Boats

Along with a portal ship in the Harbor district, we intend on having a heavy boat infrastructure network, as well as a nice lake to fish in.

Economy

Tourism

With multiple large builds, we intend on attracting a lot of people to the city to see everything we have to offer.

Shops

We plan on having shop plots in tents and in a centralized plaza/building.

Farming

To the south of Babylon will be a large area of farms nestled among the tree line.

Mining

The north-west is intended to have some mining operations for decorations sake.

The journey is the destination.

Babylon is a truly impressive project and I'm glad to have you as a neighbor.  In the spirit of being a good neighbor, this is a good opportunity to explain my projects to your west that are on the screenshot.

Across the stream from the Mixed Houses lies the Village of La Mancha.  It was originally a Testificate village that I repopulated and augmented.  It has an airship docked at one of the windmills on the south edge of the village.  Overlooking the village on a hill to its west is the tower of Quixotes (my res).  Nestled in the hills at the feet of Quixotes is the Village of Dale which, in turn, is guarded by the Castle of Dragon Hill (DragonHillArcher's res).  To the south of the castle lies the hobbit village of Mudbug and to the north lies the forest village of Gump.  The construction of all of these area is pretty much complete.

However, to the north of Gump is my current build project.  It is a reproduction of the city of Stormwind from World of Warcraft.  I have completed the Valley of Heroes and about 80% of the Trade District.  I'm not nearly as diligent a builder as you, so my progress has been slower even though Stormwind is a much smaller project than Babylon.  After the Trade District is complete, Old Town District is next.  It will fit in the area between the Trade District and Ziggurat Anuk.  Emulated gave me verbal approval to fill in the swamp-lake provided I make it look "natural".  After Old Town District, I would like to build Stormwind Keep, the Dwarven District, and the Cathedral District, but that will be some time in the future and depends on the areas that are available.

"And they said, Go to, let us build us a city and a tower, whose top may reach unto heaven; and let us make us a name, lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth." Genesis 11:3-5

As I said earlier in my post, we have some issues that need ironing out, I had been informed that my plans for expansion for the docks and harbor, so I hope that my description of what I plan on doing is good enough. Can I go on with that part of the build?

The journey is the destination.

Go ahead. Just be sure to preserve the natural looking coastline of the lake to the east, as someone else lives on the eastern shore. For the swamp, don't fill in more then you're using, and again be sure to keep it looking nice.
