I recently purchased a minecraft account of of ebay, and then found this server and decided i'd give it a try.  For some reason however I am currently banned and whenever i go to play it says "The banhammer has spoken"Cry.  I'm not really sure why this would be considering i've never even played on the server before.  If somebody could help me it would be greatly appreciated.  By the way, my account name is Hanniball2k

GriefPrevention, our anti grief plugin, automatically bans alternate accounts of banned players. Considering the nature of the account in question I would assume someone used that account to cause trouble, and when it was no longer of use they sold it online.

You should consider purchasing your own account directly from Mojang.

Just to clarify. Its actually Minecraft/Bukkit itself that tracks banned players based on their UUID (i.e. immune to name changes in 1.8). However, GP adds an additional layer of protection based on recently banned IP addresses. Unfortunately, there is nothing we can do about it since there is no reasonable way for us to verify that you are different from the person that got banned. Do you know RandomOverkill?

Some further investigation shows that RandomOverkill used several IP addresses to connect to VC and that hanniball2k used the same set of IP addresses. Either they are one and the same, two people using the same computer/setup, or are using the same proxy service; though I'd expected many other IP addresses for the latter.

The bans stay.
