Many have expressed a desire for build a railway to Vetropolis. Since it would be unfeasible to accept potentially dozens of termination points in the Train Terminal or on Vetropolis Island, we have established the Vetronian Railway system.

For more information, please see Vetronian Railways.

Quote from frelling on November 11, 2011, 10:29The Vetronian Community Chest has been set up in the Merchant Hall at spawn. Can't miss it; it's the one with the Glowstone halo over it :)

The shop lists needed resources and accepts them in multiples of 16.

Alrighty, currently smelting the second double chest of sand I dug up today, after I finish that I'll bring over nearly all my obsidian and glass supplies and plenty of glowstone.

Thanks to generous donations and efforts by all, the West Line is already 25% complete.

The Vetronian Railway West Line is almost completed. All that is left is to lay rails for the return leg of the railway. The project needs about another 2200 regular rails, or about 92 blocks of iron.

Thanks to all contributors - Okarim, Lemonhalf, SnowmanWI12345. Their contributions took a bit of the sting out of gathering materials for this project.

I want to inform you about that there are even more railways than the central ones starting and ending in Vetropolis.
Unfortuantely, I don't know how to upload an edited map where I could simply show you. So, I've to describe.
Firstly, there is one connecting Capetown and Baywalk. This one meets an interchange station from where you have access to Dreyzden (in the North of Levilin) which is a second one. These two are already finished and ready for use.
Furthermore, I'm planing to make a railway connection between Dreyzden and Guslandia of which about 1/3 is already digged out and that I could complete until the new year, prospectivly.
At the end, there can be a kind of circle: Vetropolis --> Guslandia --> Dreyzden --> Capetown --> Vetropolis (and the other way), if there is an interest in that.

@Pauli90 - To add an image to a reply, use the Reply button at the top of the thread you are replying to rather than the the Quick Reply at the bottom. This will bring up a larger edit window that allows you to add up to three images at the button (Images->Browse...)

P.S. Try to make your uploaded images no wider than 600 pixels @ 72/75 dpi. For some reason the current forum setup does not handle larger pictures well and causes text text to get cut off.

Any one that plans to connect to one of the VRW lines, please post your request here so that we can plan the exchange terminal locations accordingly. Specify your starting location (X,Z) and which line you intend to connect to. This is particularly important for anyone wanting to connect to the North Line (Guslandia) as some modifications will most likely need to be made to the line.

Okay, it'll look like this.... (see map).
WOW, isn't it. 😯 😀

As I said, the violet and the bright green ways are already finished. The yellow one is digged until where the line stops to be thick.

And yes, herewith I apply to connect to the North Line.
My starting position is: -1570; 3090
I'd prefer to connect as close as possible to Guslandia so that no exchange station is necessary, if you want to go from Dreyzden to Guslandia or the other way. But of course, I'll adapt to what can be realized. 😉

Sounds good. We'll have to make some smaller changes in Guslandia and make sure that there is a direct route under the area (i.e. non of the towns people have deep structures under their residences. I'll have a look later today.

My preference would be that you build directly east from Myra, unless there is another settlement that your thin yellow line passes by. Either way, there will be an exchange terminal. While the North Line currently ends in Guslandia, it will be extended further north as needed.

Ok, guys, I've good news (maybe).
At -1928;49;963 the Guslandia-line is now meeting the entry of my railway from there to Dreyzden. I request those who own the rights to enable a stop at this point and to remove the glas blocks still dividing our infrastructures. If you are too busy, you also can give me the rights temporaryly, so I will do.
Thanks a lot. 😀

Still a little remark: I thank to everyone who supported me in any way to construct this tunnel: DawnBuilder and t_koerner for their hands, bbush for his generous rail donations.
Unfortunately, the tunnel is not protected, yet. Nevertheless, I'm gaining money to do so. Please regard, all the chests, workbenches furnaces as well as their contents belong to my colleagues and me. Furthermore I won't accept any removing of torches or rails, digging the walls, using water buckets or any other damage doing thing.
Thank you a second time! 😉

Great news!

As soon as I get the updates tonight, I'll go take a look and see what needs to be added.

Let me know how much you need to protect the tunnel. I haven't done anything lately and this salary just keeps stacking up.

Well, the tunnel is about 1500 meters long, in generally 7 meters wide and 5 meters high, by including the walls, bottom and ceiling. These should be 52500 blocks. If for 0.7 shil. each, it'd cost about 37.000 shil. to protect it. If you discovered this to be a good investment for you, Okarim, I'd much appreciate. There's even still the other tunnel connecting Dreyzden and Capetown, as well still unprotected. 😀

I sent you 50.000 Shillings, let me know if you need more. :) Oh and keep in mind that each area is capped to 500x500, but you can put 100 areas into a single residence, so a tunnel can be cut into multiple pieces of max 500 each.
